Transdev has won Project of the Year under €50m at the Global Light Rail Awards.
The company’s internal communication platform called “The Hub” scooped the prize at the awards ceremony, which was held in London on Wednesday the 3rd of October.
This is an annual event attended by representatives from across the global light rail industry. The awards celebrate innovation and excellence, covering topics such as customer experience, sustainability, safety and technical initiatives, engineering and operational excellence, and system design.

Developed over a period of several months from late 2017 to Spring 2018, The Hub, a communication platform addresses the need for both office and non-office based staff working across 3 depots and 42km of tramline to be able to quickly and easily see the latest company news and tram service information.
Overall, the aim of The Hub is to provide a central, online venue for staff to check up on company news, share stories and photos with colleagues, keep up to date with any upcoming events which could impact service or passenger volumes, and to increase awareness of the customer experience.
It means staff can engage more with what our customers need and appreciate in a near real time manner. The Hub has provided an easily accessible location from which staff can view and download notices which would normally have only been physically displayed in the depots, including safety-related notices. This assists us with encouraging a safety culture and ensuring that such information is always accessible.
