Transdev Ireland welcomes its service on the Luas Green Line Extension launched officially by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar at O’Connell – GPO, 2pm on Saturday, 9th of December 2017, marking a significant milestone in transport for Dublin city.
The extension, which has seen construction since 2013, connects 13 new stops to the existing Green Line north of the city. Trams will now operate a route from St. Stephen’s Green to Broombridge with stops at Dawson, Westmoreland, O’Connell – GPO, O’Connell Upper, Dominick, Grangegorman, Broadstone – D.I.T., Phibsborough, Cabra, Parnell, Marlborough and Trinity.
Transdev Ireland is excited to commence services on the new line. We look forward to showcasing our customer experience to all Luas passengers and delivering an estimated 8 million more journeys per year.
Transdev has operated Luas since 2004 and employs 300 people in Dublin all of whom have been involved in planning the extension and service delivery during ongoing works over the last four years. All staff including drivers, controllers and the revenue protection team will be working this weekend with additional staff on the ground at key stops in the city centre.
