As part of the Tallaght Foróige Summer Programme for school children, Transdev assist in a number of ways. The LUAS Challenge has been running for a number of years and involves Transdev and Foróige developing a quiz/ treasure hunt booklet for the Red Line. Each year groups of children partake in these activities with leaders over June, July, and August. Over 300 children took part in this last year.
In addition, groups visit the Red Cow Depot to see how the LUAS is operated, controlled, and maintained behind the scenes. Yesterday’s visit saw the kids visit the Control Room, the maintenance workshop, and then spend time on a tram getting to see the driver’s cab and the safety/ security features.
A huge thanks to everyone that helped out with the group and we look forward to seeing more groups come to the depot over the Summer.
