In advance of the Papal visit in August and to assist us in our dealings with other large-scale events, Transdev representatives attended a Crowd Safety and Risk Assessment course in conjunction with An Garda Síochána. The course was also attended by other transport providers such as Dublin Bus and Irish Rail.
The course was a 3 day introduction to crowd safety and Risk Analysis training being funded by the OPW. This is to ensure that all stake holders including Gardaí, Dublin Fire Brigade, Public Transport, private security companies, and volunteers involved in the upcoming Papal visit were all trained to understand crowd dynamics, queuing systems, and Risk Analysis. The training course was formative and useful training provided by Professor Keith Still who is a world famous lecturer in this field.
