Transdev, operator of Luas proudly supports Garda Youth Awards for DMR (Dublin Metropolitan Regions) South. The awards are celebrated throughout Ireland and for the first time will be celebrated in DMR South.

Launched on the 24th of October 2018, Garda Youth Awards DMR South celebrates outstanding young people between 13 and 21 years of age and recognises the good work being done by young people throughout the communities of DMR South. The DMR South Garda Division covers Tallaght, Crumlin and Terenure with respective districts of Rathfarnham, Sundrive Road and Rathmines.

At the launch of the Awards, Garda Superintendent Kevin Gralton said: “the Garda Youth Awards are a great opportunity for the Gardaí to recognise the work that young people, clubs, and schools are doing in their communities to make them a better place to live. We are on track with Transdev to make these awards very special and I look forward to meeting those nominated at the Awards ceremony in Tallaght stadium next February”

Seamus Egan, MD, Transdev, said ”it is our pleasure and honour to be associated with the communities we serve and especially the young people who make a difference to those communities. I want to encourage as many people to nominate a deserving person or group for an award.”

Awards will be considered for nominated young people who by their presence make their communities a better place to live. There will also be an award for groups of two or more young people whose combined efforts have contributed positively to their communities. All nominees and group members should be between the 13 and 21 years of age on 31st August 2018.
