Transdev are delighted to have won the Operator of the Year Award for their LUAS Dublin operations at the prestigious Global Light Rail Awards 2017. The awards ceremony, held in London on the 4th October, is an annual event attended by representatives from across the global light rail industry. The awards celebrate innovation and excellence across the fast-moving sector, covering topics such as customer experience, sustainability, safety and technical initiatives, engineering and operational excellence, and system design.
The winner of the Operator of the Year Award is the operator that demonstrates exceptional innovation, performance and customer service over the previous year. On the night, Transdev were noted for moving to a 100% renewable electricity provider, for their introduction of an innovative new driver management system and for development of a new tram simulator for training of drivers. Other areas that singled Transdev out from the competition included the ongoing integration of the new LUAS Cross City Line into operations and a commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility which includes the now annual shoebox appeal “Help Fill a Tram” for the homeless of Dublin.
